This year the Humane Society collaborated with the town of Chestertown on its "Chestertown Goes Green" campaign and with the Center for Environment & Society of Washington College in its Earth Day Festival.

For more details or any questions concerning adoption animals, fees, or lost/found pets, please call 410-778-3648 during normal shelter hours.
If you have a complaint or problem you wish to report to the animal control officer, please click here to obtain a complaint or problem form.
The Society responds 24 hours a day to emergencies. An emergency is an occurrence that seriously threatens the safety of a person or domestic animal.
For after hours emergencies, call Kent County Emergency Alarm at 410-778-1241. (Note: Animal Control Officers cannot respond to after hours calls that are not emergencies.)
An Emergency Drop Off Room is located behind and to the left of the shelter. The area is well lighted and identified by a sign. Staff regularly check the Drop Off Room.
Report all animal bites to the Humane Society of Kent County, MD, and the Kent County Health Department.
