Information requested on the adoption application is used to determine if the adopter is suited for this or any animal available for adoption. All information obtained is considered in approving or denying the adoption. All applications are reviewed and considered with the animal's best interest being our main concern. All adoptions are done at the discretion of the Humane Society of Kent County MD, Inc. There is a minimum of an overnight wait for the application to be processed. Once the application has been approved, a legal binding contract is signed insuring current rabies vaccination status (as appropriate to age) and sterilization of the animal being adopted. Breach of this contract will result in citations being issued or confiscation of the animal in question.

ADOPTION FEES, DISEASE AND PARASITE CONTROL FEES, AND A MICROCHIP FEE ARE NON REFUNDABLE. ALL SPAY/NEUTER DEPOSIT MONEY IS REFUNDABLE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A BREACH OF THE ADOPTION CONTRACT.

The Humane Society can now accept payment by American Express, Visa and Discover cards for any fees or purchases.
